Oh England, Really?
Just when we think it is safe to play outside and have all the cool toys out:
It starts to rain:
So it becomes a race against the rain to get the toys stored:
All the doors closed up tight:
And all the people inside:

Building A Rising Tiger
Yesterday we went to Legol.and:
We were excited to see the newly refurbished 'Fairytale Brook' ride:
We then went to lunch and as we exited the restaurant Brayton announced that he wanted to fire the water gun during the pirate show.
The gun was currently open so the boys staked their claim:
After a twenty minute wait for the show and a parade of people trying to get in on the water gun action, it was time for Junior Pirates #3 to take their shot at Mad Jack:
Our last stop of the day was the new D.uploLand splash park. We didn't bring our swim suits but that didn't stop the boys!
Pearson was a bit less enthusiastic about getting wet:
We left L.egoland in time to get to an event on base. Our local Cub Scout den was holding a promotion ceremony. They also welcomed in upcoming Tiger Scouts:
McColley was given a cap, scarf, slide and guide book:
His best friend is a year ahead of him but they're already excited to hang out at all the pack events:

Grabbing A Moment
Today was McColley's last day of Kindergarten... and Pearson's last regularly scheduled day of "Mommy To Himself" time (at least until September). In celebration of this we found a place to watch the birds while having tea:
The was also the only part of the day without wind and rain. Luckily for McColley, while we were having tea, he was having an extra-long recess with his friends!

Trophy Time!
The t-ball season is officially over. McColley got his trophy tonight:
He had a great season and is looking forward to playing coach-pitch next year!

A Picnic On Treasure Island
This evening we packed up a cooler, loaded up the car with blankets and headed out to a see a show.
We decided to use our chairs for comfort even though the chair area was a bit farther back from the stage than the blanket-only area:
Our picnic was admittedly less fancy than our neighbors' who had brought hot food and wine:
However our picnic basket was loaded with all the boys' favorite foods which McColley appreciated when he rejoined us after participating in an acting workshop:
The show started right on time. Our seats were directly out from the stage but the view was a bit blocked for the boys:
The second half started with some audience-participation dancing:
We laughed our way through the show. After it ended we packed up all our things but we couldn't leave until the boys had a little more fun by the lake:

Kindergarten Acceleration
Yesterday the kindergarteners at Alc.onbury Elementary School 'accelerated' into the first grade.
They each got to walk through a balloon arch with their cap on and receive a 'diploma' and a book of advice from this year's first graders.
After the ceremony it was picture time!
First, McColley's class of 'graduates' with their teachers:
They had to toss their caps!
Then the brothers had to all pose together under the balloon arch (I expect to have many variations of this picture in my future):
With all the pictures done, McColley used his 'diploma' to make a paper airplane (he got his real certificate at the end of the day):
Only one week left of kindergarten and then he'll really be a first grader! I can't believe how quickly this year has gone!

Gettin' My Robin Hood On
Yesterday for my last event as the OCSC Social Chair I scheduled an archery lesson with the base's Outdoor Recreation. They provided everything we needed to learn how to shoot:
We shot at traditional targets for several rounds before having a friendly competition:
I had a problem with overshooting the target... one arrow might have flown straight over the target AND the back stop and out into the shaggy bushland:
But I did get one arrow into the gold!
Pay no attention to all the white and green arrows that were shot by the lady next to me...
