Welcome To The Zoo Daddy

On Sunday March 9th we decided to take advantage of the nice weather and head to the zoo:

It was a special trip because it was the first time Daddy went with us:

The boys were a little silly in their excitement to show Daddy all their favorite spots:

Then they were even more excited to play on the brand new zoo playground:

Both McColley and Brayton had no problems with going down the new slides:

Pearson had no problem either with Daddy there to help him:

Plus Daddy was able to provide him with the best zebra viewing spot ever:

Our Blue And Gold Bobcat

Friday March 7th McColley's Cub Scout Pack held their Blue and Gold Banquet:

Because McColley is a Tiger Scout we were allowed to go first in the food line. This gave us a lot of time after eating to play with the prizes that popped out of our blue and gold crackers:

McColley was seriously focused on getting through the silliness and onto the awards part of the night:

Pearson was having a grand time stealing all his brothers prizes and playing with everything:

Brayton was focused on keeping Pearson's hands off his stuff:

Eventually it was time to start the awards and McColley's den was up first:

He first got to give me MY bobcat pin (an acknowledgement of all the help he gets from his parents):

Then he got his own Bobcat patch and his first belt loop:

After everyone had received their patches and belt loops they got to see if they had courage. The Pack leader gave them a jar of river water and then poured in some morning dew - if it glowed then they were courageous:

His river water/morning dew glowed bright and he is now officially a bobcat!

Wrapping Up The Season

On Tuesday March 4th we said farewell to the 2014 basketball season. The Youth Center held an awards ceremony for all the teams.

Brayton (and B's) team, The Suns, were up first:

B announced the kids' names while the Youth Center director handed out the trophies:

The kids couldn't resist showing off their trophies... and playing with them:

The 2014 Suns!

McColley's team, The Magic, were the first team recognized in their age group:

McColley was the first of the Magic to get his award:

McColley has managed to keep the same team name AND the same number all three years he has played at Alc.onbury... I believe he is the only kid with that distinction:

The 2014 Magic!

Basketball season was very fun but we're all a bit glad that it is over. We have a lot more free time now!
